The operation Hakker-Houxvert is the result of the co-ordination between American, British and French forces. Its purpose was to break German morale through a series of raids and guerilla attacks during the invasion of Normandie, in June 1944.
It was named after Irish officer Jeremy Hakker and high ranking French resistant Raymond Houxvert who carefully planned, well ahead, this enterprise, aimed at
potential strategic targets, resulting in several distinct missions. These were carried out by exceptional men and contributed to the allied victory in the battle of Normandie. Being of such a secretive nature any information on this operation is really, really, REALLY hard to find in the history books…
