Heroes of Pacific has its Pledge Manager on Gamefound

I’ve received two e-mails from “Gamefound” which is asking me to complete my pledge for Heroes of the Pacific. In the e-mail it says it will transfer my pledge from Kickstarter, convert it to “credits”, which can then be used to configure the final order and cover shipping costs.


Is this genuine ( and if so, why is Devil Pigs doing this ? ), or is it a scam ?

Pledge manager is going through Gamefound (just like KS it lets DPG organize all easier)

Since we paid KS the pledge, they translate all those €€€ to “credits” of same amount. Thats why you must use the same data when creating the account on Gamefound, so they get the correct info of what you paid for.

Then you use those credits to add the items to the Gamefound cart (plus you can add more items you want extra)

And all you have to pay in the end is just the shipping. Because KS didn’t charge us the shipping.


And done.

I has been mentioned in the last couple of campaign updates that Gamefound is the website being used for the Pledge Manager for the Pacific campaign. It is legit.


As Buho mentioned, make sure you use the same email as you use for Kickstarter, otherwise Gamefound cannot tie your account to your pledge. If you get into Gamefound and you don't have your pledge credits that is likely what happened.


Also: Make sure you choose the language of the HoP core box. It defaults to French, but if you want English you need to switch to that. Double check everything else, but I think the rest of the printed material (Tokyo Express and Pacific War Stories) are all English/French and have both versions included.

Still confused as to why a third party needs to be involved, given that we didn’t have to go through this for previous pledges. But if that is the hoop we have to jump through, so be it.

While the extra step is a slight pain, I understand why DPG is doing it this way.


That said, it was a pretty painless process, and I had even estimated my shipping closely enough that I only owed a few pennies after all the calculations were done.

Given the history of Kickstarter/Gamefound projects in general, that is an open question until after production is done. Any answer you would get now would be written in very light pencil at best. Stay tuned.

I backed the project with the Semper Fi pledge. And when Gamefound took over the pledge management I sent a payment of about $26 dollars to cover the shipping. So I thought everything was sorted.


I've now been told by my bank a month later that the payment to Gamefound was returned today. The message was:


PIG FROM HELL GAMES's Payment Receiving Preferences are set to manually accept or decline this type of payment.

Please contact PIG FROM HELL GAMES (admin@pigfromhellgames.com) to arrange an alternate funding source.


I've checked on Kickstarter and Gamefound and there is nothing to show that the payment has gone and it still shows everything is up to date.


Has anyone else had this issue or know what is going on?

Thanks for the info. I have passed it on to DPG. It is their first time using Gamefound so perhaps there was a config issue.
