Difference of 60mm Mortar Squads (5th Rangers vs Common)
Difference of 60mm Mortar Squads (5th Rangers vs Common) posté le [10/06/2018] à 13:59

I was playing with some Rangers the other day and I found out there's quite some difference between two 60mm Mortar Squads.

The common army mortar squad has the regular blue indirect fire icon (one destruction on the blast template).

The 5th Rangers (from the Pointe du Hoc expansion) have two destruction (on the unit this time). Now, I can understand this, 5th Rangers being a bit more elite or something… But shouldn't they both have the Indirect Fire icon (for mortars) instead of the Direct Fire?

Or is this a mistake in the Pointe du Hoc expansion?

For me it's à mistake. The 60mm army mortar is the right One.

Thanks, what’s also really strange is that Lt. Harper with its Barrage Order can’t even order three heavy weapons because this recruitment tile doesn’t come with three heavy units of the same name.

Unless you combine this recruitment tile with others that bring more heavy weapons.

Well, for instance, the British 'East Yorkshire Regiment' has Lt. Higgins and the Barrage Order too… but this regiment has three Vickers and three mortars squads with the same name… So at least Higgins can command them.

yes but at start, he couldn't use his ability. You must buy a option to activate it

That's true, it's the same as the Rangers. Both officers (Higgins and Harper) have the Barrage Order but can't use it without a recruitment support option.

The problem is that the East Yorkshire Regiment has the options to get to three heavy units with the same name. Where the Rangers 5th Battalion does not. You can get up to two mortar squads, but that's about it. 🙂

For example, the East Yorkshire Regiment can use the Barrage Order much more efficiently.

The rangers have an indirect fire, it's an error on the unit.

But they can shoot or do a destruction 2

I updated the Unofficial Product Index to reflect the errata.
