Errata cards
Errata cards posté le [16/07/2020] à 16:06

Is it possible to still get the errata cards given I now have a full overlord pledge, second hand, that does not include those cards. Original owner, I think, lost interest between KS and delivery. Or am I stuck printing and sticking?

You might try emailing IELLO, as well. I had two extra cards but I gave them to someone already.

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately I am in the uk and iellousa don’t dispatch here (otherwise I’d have bought the airborne from them). That said I might still ask them as I’m guessing it would just be letter post.

Cheers

There is a discussion on BGG on some damaged cards. The Iello rep responded to it. Here's the link to the discussion. The email may help you out. Iello does have offices in the UK.

First of all, I am assuming by "errata card" you mean the punchboards with corrected tokens.

Unfortunately, the collection you bought includes the decision made by the original owner that they did not feel the need to pick up the errata during the limited window when it was available.

The good news is that all of the errata are available, so you could print the errata onto sticker sheets and paste them over the tokens with errors.

What errata and / or game "branch" are you talking about ? Heroes of Normandie ? Stalingrad ? Or Black Reach ?

By the way…

Why – instead of always having issues with correctly reprinted tokens and similar stuff – you do not try to look carefully all the materials BEFORE it is sent to the printers… Instead of print afterwards the correct versions ?

I mean…

It is better practice – in my opinion – to control EVERYTHING BEFORE and every file of stuff to be printed, BEFORE IT IS PRINTED AND SENT TO THE CUSTOMERS… Rather then the contrary…

I hate how much stuff from the Heroes of Normandie range, in particular, is somehow "errata"…

I have bought the main boxed sets and the Gazzettes and the expansions till now printed and too many of them do present a plentiful amount of errata tokens, mistranslated rules (Carentan, Saint Mere Eglise and Pegasus Brigdes… I am talking about you, dudes !!! ;-P ) and I hate this fact…

It deters the overall quality of the products' range itself !!!

Before sending out to the Chineses the stuff to print, spend some time in order to control if all the stuff is correctly "showed-as-it-will-be-printed" or not…

Sigh. Caught by the cross-over product again. Sorry.

Your assumption is entirely wrong. Every DPG product was not only run through QC by DPG, they were all published here for people to go over and comment on errors. And STILL things get missed. The amount of different data points in a typical DPG product is huge and all the graphics are assembled by hand. Errors appear and although many are caught a few are overlooked.

If you think you can do better, then go find some of the [Preview] threads in the archives and do your best to go over the images… then check the notes after the image posts and see what YOU missed. Then check the errata reports and see what we ALL missed. It is a lot easier to say that a thing should be done than it is to actually do that thing. Many people went over those images and things still got missed.

Why are things missed? Because that is how human perception works. The human brain "fills in" information it "knows" should be there, especially when you are looking at visual things.

That is why there is such an emphasis on blind playtesting, to avoid the "meta-information" that familiarity brings.

It is similar to all the rules-writing advice about not having anyone familiar with your game do the proof-reading, because they already have an understanding of HOW the game works, so they will miss things or not notice that something important is not actually defined because everyone "knows" what the term means.
